Twin Peaks Television Series

It’s not only the natural northwest beauty that makes Kiana so unique, but it’s also our involvement in the television series Twin Peaks that has captured the hearts of many as well. Born in 1989 and revisited in 2017, Twin Peaks has since become a worldwide phenomenon, attracting many, and I stress, many visitors from all over the world to our little slice of paradise.

The series opens with a horrifying scene; where it all began. Pete Martel, headed out fishing, looks out the window and finds the body of Laura Palmer, the town's very own homecoming queen. Her body had washed ashore next to a giant log, which ultimately launched a series that has captivated audiences in so many different countries. So who murdered Laura Palmer? It’s up to FBI Agent Cooper to find out who killed the hometown favorite. The series is a wonderful blend of the supernatural and the traditional; exposing the dark side of small town life. In the sleepy little town of Twin Peaks, it seems like nearly everyone has a dark little secret that they’re keeping from everyone else.

Our Main Lodge serves as much of the backdrop to the Great Northern Hotel, and also doubles as the Blue Pine Lodge. Built in 1929, much of the log cabin-like interior and unique hand painted murals are unmistakable. The building has gone through a few remodels over the years, however, it doesn’t draw away from the original character. One also cannot forget the big log where Laura washes ashore, wrapped in plastic.

Nearly every day there are folks who stop by to visit Kiana, hoping to catch a snapshot of what happened behind the scenes of the show. Some come to simply walk through the buildings and take a few snapshots; others will wrap themselves in plastic with friends. We welcome any fans of the show to come by, however, please respect that we are a private facility, and our paying guests have exclusive use of the grounds. We ask that you call ahead to make sure we’re open when you’re planning your visit (360) 598-4311. Thank you.
